I started this blog to document my journey to health. I was doing so well too. Then I took a break and had a difficult time with one of my children which sent me into a depression, and one thing led to another and here it is December 30, 2011 and I've gained almost every pound I lost.

I have been reflecting on weigh loss and what causes me to fail, and succeed. One problem I have is that I do not make changes for life. I make temporary changes and when I start feeling great again then I go back to the same place I was. This year with the help of my daughter-in-law who is studying nutrition and my son a personal trainer, I am going to embark on this lifestyle change for the rest of my life. The first thing I am going to do is cut out all dairy our of my diet and the diet of my children. We all take vitamins and there is no reason why we should miss milk. We drink very little milk and when we do have ice cream and such, the kids and I don't feel that great after.

Therefore, the changes that we are going to make are:
1. Go dairy free
2. Go sugar free
3. As much as I can, go flour free

With these three things eliminated from our diet, I believe that our health will be resorted not to mention much needed weight loss. For starters, the most important piece is dairy free, and we will start there.

We will not eat fast foods anymore. They are horrible, plus full of all kinds of preservatives and such. We will look at more natural options and where those are not available, I will make my own for the family so that I know exactly what the family is eating.

I'll continue to write in my blog, and I hope as I become better at this lifestyle I will be able to offer tips, and recipes.

Weigh in Friday!

My last weigh in was two weeks ago, then we took of for spring break, and starting tomorrow (Monday, April 4, 2011) I will be refocusing my efforts to change my journey of health and weight loss! I have not been watching my eating habits of late. My weight is up about 4 lbs so I hope that by Friday my weight will be back on track!

HELLO THEATER SEATING

Today, my husband and I went to the movies, I was carrying my purse, a diet coke, and popcorn. As we entered the theater it was DARK, I was worried, because usually I have to organize myself to sit down, because I have to do some creative sitting to get my booty in the sit right.

As luck would have it, my hips didn't even touch the sides of the seat as I was sitting down. I was so excited, I was kind of loud when I told my husband "HEY I FIT" I was a little giddy about fitting, its been a long while!

Then we gobbled down a large popcorn and drank soda something I try to stay away from (the soda)...I thought what the heck, I have 49 extra weekly points for the popcorn.

I'm back in the saddle again! WHEW!

Today I weighed in at Weight Watchers, after having a GREAT week and going back to the gym, I completely took the week by storm.

Weight: 242.2
Loss: 4.4
Total loss: 45.4

I'm getting there and I have just 2.3 lbs to get into the 30's...I can't wait!

Long time no see!

Lets just say that February was eventful at our house!

On February 4, 2011 we went to weight in Friday...at which time I had my first gain...sad day because I was so off, and i didn't even care that much. Since I didn't look to see when I last posted, I will recap January 28th first.

January 28h weighed 249.4 a loss of 3.6 lbs and 38.2 over all. I was so excited because I had wanted to get into the 40's by the end of January and I made that goal.

Then came February...OHHHHHHHHHHHHH BROTHER is all I have to say.

February 4, 2011 I weighted in at 250.6 that is a 1.2 lb gain for a total weight loss of 37.0 lbs....

this was when our month really got going crazy. After weight watchers my husband ended up going from our house to the hospital in an Ambulance, he ended up the next week having a hernia repair, and so the following week was crazy, plus we had company. Then the next week was crazy, and the month just went on, then I got sick for two weeks with bronchitis...

March 4, 2011 I went back to Weight Watchers and I weighed in at 246.6, for a 4.0 lb weight loss and a 41 lbs overall weight loss. I felt GREAT about that and renewed myself that I would do better and stop eating poorly. I hate how I have felt in the month of February.

Besides I will never attain my goals if I do not watch what I eat. I had wanted to get into the 30's by the end of Febuary, but that is not realistic at all, so I am going to aim for that in March. I haven't made it back to water aerobics since all this mess, but I am going to start back this week.

I am also going to try to find another activity to do that can help me stay moving.

Hello Hips, its been so long!

Today, when I finished water aerobics, looking at myself in the mirror, I realized I had hips again. Mind you, I am still extremely overweight, but I can now see my hips and what a glorious sight for me to be looking at in a mirror no less. I have always hated mirrors, they make me sick. Though, I for the first time ever I feel like I am actually losing weight and can tell in more than just the clothes.

Today, water aerobics was crazy. The instructor knocked it out of the water for me. It was circuit training, we had to run suicides in the pool, ohhhh let me tell you, it was so tough. My legs were burning. All I could tell my friend was burn baby burn. Though, I know that any burning and soreness is because I am actually working hard at this and in time I will see the results.

Behind

Since Christmas I have been behind in everything I am doing. I haven't been able to get caught up on my blogging...

I am just going to start with my weigh in Friday two weeks ago and tomorrow I'll get this finished and caught up.

My last weigh in was on 1-14-2011 I weighed in at 253, I lost 2 lbs for a total of 34.6 lbs. I was very excited about that loss.

Last week I wasn't able to weigh in, I was at my daughters house, she had a baby and came home from the hospital the same time as Weight Watchers.

I have tried to wear the same outfit in all my pictures because I wanted to see the difference, but today I have on a different shirt, actually its the same shirt, just a different color. But I think that I can finally see some difference from day one until now.

Weigh in Friday

I know, I haven't been very good at posting on this thing. I was visiting Utah for awhile and now I'm back. I have a couple weigh in's to catch up on, so here goes.:

On December 24th I weighed in at 259.6 with a 1.6 lb weight loss and 28 total lbs.

I tried to weigh in when I was in Utah on New Years Eve, but I could not find a place open. So, my next weigh in wasn't until:

January 7, 2011 I weighed in at 255 with a 4.6 lb weight loss and 32.6 lbs over all. Counting all I have lost from 2008 I am at 52 lbs over all. So that is feeling GREAT!

I have had a bad couple of weeks not being able to go to the gym. This week has been rough, but I am going to get back into it tomorrow if my little one is feeling better. I miss being in the water and going to water aerobics. I have been going full time to that. The inches are starting to show. I have more pictures that I took last week, so I need to post those too.
